Best known for his bad boy roles in hit Malay movies like 'Anak Halal' and 'Histeria', Putra auditioned for the role in Kuala Lumpur for Don 2 in the middle of the year. He said he was told that he got the role last month. "I went for a casting call handled by one of the production houses in KL. I'm thankful to Allah for the opportunity and the happiness that comes with it," said Putra. 'Don 2', an action thriller, is the sequel to 2006 blockbuster hit 'Don'. Directed by Farhan Akhtar, it also stars Bollywood beauties Priyanka Chopra and Lara Dutta.

Fraud allegations against Amisha Patel

Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel’s uncle Nalin Patel has registered a police complaint against her. It relates to a property dispute between them, about a flat in the posh Prabhat Road area in Pune. Nalin claims that Ameesha tresspassed, took valuable articles and fled from the flat. The Pune Police are checking out the issue. The police say they’ve been asking the actress to record her statement, but that she hasn’t done this yet.

However, she has sent a letter through her lawyer, saying that she owns a share in the flat.
According to Nalin, his servant at the flat told him that a lady had come in, given him some cash, taken a lot of items from the house, loaded them in a vehicle and left. He says he found out later that it was Ameesha. He added that she was not answering his calls, also exposing that she’d claimed ownership of the house and asked for the house keys a few months ago.

Ameesha’s lawyer says that the actress’s uncle is making the allegations to damage her popularity. She herself has been mum about it all so far.

Salman Khan to replace Akshay Kumar

Salman Khan seems to be high on Tamil and Telugu remakes. In fact, the actor is so impressed by Telugu actor, Venkatesh’s in recent times released ‘Nagavalli’ that he wants to be part of its Hindi remake. ‘Nagavalli’ is a sequel of Telugu film ‘Chandramukhi’ which was made into a Hindi film, ‘Bhool Bhulaiya’. According to an industry insider, Salman suggested to T-Series that ‘Nagavalli’ be made into a Hindi movie.

After all, it was T- Series that produced ‘Bhool Bhulaiya’ and are now seriously considering re-making its sequel into Hindi as well.It so happens that Salman Khan shares a good rapport with T-Series, and is presently working on a movie of theirs titled ‘Ready’ – again a Hindi remake of the Telugu film of the same name.

In 'Tees Maar Khan', Akshay Kumar plays a shameless con man, Tabrez Mirza Khan aka Tees Maar Khan aka TMK, in a role inspired by English folklore hero Robin Hood. "He steals and cheats with alarming audacity with his gang comprising of Dollar, Soda and Burger," said the film's director Farah Khan, whose previous two films 'Main Hoon Na' and 'Om Shanti Om' have been blockbusters.

Akshay's partner in crime is Katrina who plays Anya, a wannabe actress, who sizzles on screen with 'Sheila Ki Jawaani', which has already become a chartbuster.

Interestingly, it took composer Pritam four months to create the music for the song, Peechhe peechhe. “When you hear the song, you will understand why it was so very important to get the tune right,” says Kumar, refusing to reveal more about the lyrics. He reasons, “The punchline is the most important part of the song and it’s too early to give that away now. It’s also going to be an important part of our promotional strategies.”

Currently, the producer is discussing another highlight song sequence of Ready with Bazmee and the team. “We’ll be building another grand set for that too because that’s the second larger than life number of our movie,” he asserts.

Bobby Deol upsets comedian Raju Srivastav?

Bobby Deol’s role in Yamla Pagla Deewana is named Gajodhar. The on-going promotions of the comic caper that is slated to release in January, has him essay the role of a funny conman.And this has irritated stand-up comic Raju Srivastav. He says, “Bobby Deol may be playing the act of Gajodhar in the film.But this name has been given by me and the whole country knows me as Gajodhar bhaiya.”He adds, “The makers have used my common character without my permission and knowledge. A source from the film’s production house however maintains, “The name has been given to Bobby’s role because it fit his screen character.No one thought of anything else or wanted to offend anybody. And no one has a copyright on the name.Anybody can name anybody to their liking.” When asked about the controversy, the film’s publicist maintains, “We have heard that Raju has raised an objection but we do not want to say anything.”

SRK was first contacted for the character but after he turned it down the role fell into Aamir Khan’s lap and the rest, as they say, is history. Aamir Khan did wonders to ‘3 Idiots’ which was seriously borrowed from Chetan Bhagat’s book but strayed on events and in its main theme.

After having missed out on ‘3 Idiots’, Shahrukh is not in the mood to let go of the chance gain. Apparently, SRK has signed ‘Two States’, a movie based on Chetan Bhagat’s another book by the same name. The film shall be directed by the acclaimed Vishal Bhardwaj and Sajid Nadiadwala is producing the project.Initially, Sajid was contemplating Priyanka Chopra and Saif Ali Khan as the lead celebrities with Siddharth Anand to direct the venture. But may be, the disastrous fate of ‘Anjaana Anjaani’ has prompted Sajid to change his mind.

Getting SRK and Vishal onboard is the best thing a producer can ask for! The film is inspired from the real life story of Chetan Bhagat and is a love story about a Punjabi man and a South Indian girl. Shahrukh has apparently loved the plot and has given his nod to the movie. As for the actress, it is speculated that a beginner may be cast opposite the Shahrukh Khan.
