The star wants the world to know she's "distraught" that she's been dragged into a naval scandal involving offensive videos made by a U.S. Naval Captain that made use of Close's image without her consent.

Just what exactly does the 63-year-old actor object to?

The series of videos were made three and four years ago by Capt. Owen Honors of the U.S.S. Enterprise, one of America's premiere aircraft carriers. The videos were meant to be a morale booster for seamen serving long deployments, but some ended up crossing the line into homophobic behavior and anti-gay slurs.

Sanjay Dutt to avoid advertising tobacco products

Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt has decided against promoting gutka brands and tobacco products, saying he noticed that young and impressionable minds can be affected badly through these brand promotions. Sources close to the actor said Dutt had read newspaper reports about doctors asking him to stop promoting gutka products in a letter.”He had not received any such letter. But, he made up his thoughts to do so. He will not continue his agreement with the gutka brand,” they said.

According to the sources, Dutt is also trying to stop smoking.”He would like to set an example for his children. He has decided to quit using and promoting products that are considered bad for health. However, all this will happen gradually, as there is also his existing deal with the gutka company to consider,” they said.”The actor has realized that young and impressionable minds can be influenced adversely through these brand promotions. He is planning to take corrective measures soon,” they added.

Doctors organisations had last week written a letter to the actor asking him to stop endorsing gutka and tobacco.

Kiran Rao wished Salman Khan in Dhobi Ghat

With the release date of film Dhobi Ghat drawing near, Kiran Rao, who is making her directorial debut with the movie, has exposed that she wished Salman Khan to work in the movie.“Initially I was thinking to get Salman to do a special appearance for the movie, wherein Munna gets a opportunity to meet Salman Khan.

But when the script was ready that scene didn’t fit into it. In fact, the character played by Pratiek Babbar in the film is a huge lover of Salman. “His room has many Salman Khan’s photos. There is also one image of Aishwarya’s eyes,” She added.

Dhobi Ghat, with Aamir Khan and Pratiek Babbar is scheduled for release on January.

Bollywood director Rajkumar Santoshi sure knows how to move on and utilise his time productively.Despite the fact that his film Power is having issues, he has decided to make a quickie in the interim. Santoshi is reviving his film Ladies and Gentleman for which he had completed Abhishek and Aishwarya. The movie will go on the floors soon.

Abhishek has apparently signed on the dotted line but whether Aishwarya has also agreed remains not clear.In the meanwhile his film Power which was released with great excitement is still having problems. The film cast Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Anil Kapoor and a couple of major actresses was stuck. So while the producers of Power zero in on their film cast, Santoshi is getting ready to direct Ladies and Gentleman.

Santoshi was also considering a sequel to his hit film Andaz Apna Apna with Salman Khan and Aamir Khan. And though the two actors are good friends, the sequel plans don’t seem to have taken off.

Surprisingly, Brett is also a cancer survivor, having successfully battled an advanced stage of prostrate cancer.“They program to mention their wedding soon. Lisa has told us to put all her professional assignments on hold till she fixes up a wedding date,” says a source close to the actress.Brett was seen accompanying Lisa on her current visit to Mumbai.

There’s a 19-year age difference between the two.“Lisa is least concerned about the age difference between them. They make a lovely pair. Besides, Brett, who’s a Canadian, does not look his age. Brett has been working with various support groups in Canada to help cancer patients over the past 10 years. They met atone of the events in Calgary (Canada) a couple of years ago,” discloses the friend.Lisa had before said that cancer changed her outlook on life forever.

“Everything has changed post cancer. I simply cannot go back to living as I was before. I’ve experienced a lot of growth through pain. My priority is to find the right life partner and have a family,” she said.

Ra.One probably to interrupt Don 2 release

There’s huge rumours about the release date of Don 2. Of course, producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar and Reliance Big Pictures had locked December as the release date of the film, since Shahrukh Khan’s home-production Ra.One was planned to hit the screens in June, giving a six-month distance between the two releases.

Although SRK has not officially announced the release date yet], one wonders whether Don 2 will stick to the date of December.However, Ritesh Sidhwani turns down any postponement of Don 2. In fact, we will be through with the filming part in February/March itself. We have ample time to devote to the post-production work and marketing of our film,” Ritesh tells me.

The promos of the two films create confusion in the minds of the viewer? “I don’t think so. Both belong to different genres, so there’s no question of overlapping,” he clarifies.
