“Glee” led the television side and “The Kids Are All Right” heavily represented the film community when the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, or GLAAD, revealed the nominations for its 22nd Annual GLAAD Media Awards this morning.
“By recognizing and honoring media for outstanding images of the LGBT community, the GLAAD Media Awards serve as a benchmark for the media industry and complement GLAAD’s work to bring LGBT images and stories to Americans,” said the release.
Nominees for this year’s GLAAD awards include Lisa Cholodenko’s “The Kids Are All Right,” with Julianne Moore and Annette Bening; “I Love You Phillip Morris,” starring Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor; and “Howl,” with Jon Hamm and James Franco.
On the TV front, HBO’s “True Blood,” Fox’s “Glee,” ABC’s “Modern Family” and NBC’s “30 Rock” received nominations. “Project Runway” was recognized, as was “The Oprah Winfrey Show” for Ricky Martin’s first televised interview.
