Salman Khan as visitor of respect at Kingfisher Calendar 2011 launch: The Kingfisher Calendar 2011 was unveiled over a brunch hosted by UB Group chairman Vijay Mallya at his Mumbai residence. Bollywood actor Salman Khan was the guest of honour at the launch.

The other celebrities and socialites who were present at the do were Siddhartha Mallya, Deepika Padukone, Rahul Khanna, Zayed Khan, Raveena Tandon, Anil Thandani, Gautaum Singhania, Sharmilla Khanna, Sameera Reddy, Sushma Reddy and Anoushka Manchanda amongst others.

The calendar features six models namely Lisa Haydon, Fiona Thomas, Charlotte Lohmann, Liza Golden, Anjali Lavania and Angela Johnson. Styled by Nupur Mehta Puri with make up by Kapil Bhalla and hair styling by Daniel Bauer, the 9th edition of the Kingfisher Calendar has been visualised and shot by photographer Atul Kasbekar and has been shot at Le-Touessork in Mauritius.

Over the years, the Kingfisher swimsuit calendar has come to be regarded as the epitome of style and a launch pad for India’s supermodels. I am sure this year too the calendar will be a much coveted possession.”

I have tried to do justice in capturing the celestial beauty of Mauritius and juxtaposed them with the rawness and the inherent charm exuded by the girls to create 12 months of breath taking beauty, glamour and visual appeal.”

Bollywood Hot item girl Poonam Jhawar to take part in Radia: A B-grade music video girl is all set to play corporate lobbyist Nira Radia on screen. Poonam Jhawar, who once reportedly rejected an offer by Playboy to feature on the magazine's centrefold, would play the lead in a film titled 2G Radia-tion. The movie, inspired by the Rs 1.76 lakh crore spectrum scam, would be helmed by Alpesh Dixit and Vijay Desai.

Apart from a blink-and-you-miss appearance in the 1994 Akshay Kumar, Raveena Tandon starrer Mohra , the voluptuous Poonam featured in the Tauba Tauba Kya Hoga remix music video that was released a few years ago. "The producers felt my overall personality matches with that of Nira Radia. The scam is unravelling each day right in front of our eyes, so it's the role of a lifetime for me. The makers decided to go ahead with the film because it is a dramatic subject that has intrigue, power and exploitation written all over it," Poonam said.

The film, to be produced by the UK-based Hiten Group, will trace Radia's life as a young entrepreneur who goes on to hit headlines after her involvement in the 2G is revealed.

Poonam pointed out that the film would have a generous dose of filmi exaggerations to make the plot all the more intriguing. "It will not be an entirely true account of Radia's life," said Poonam, known for her revealing photo-sessions.

"I was amazed to see how cool and calm Radia has been ever since the controversy erupted. She was quite composed even in front of the media and while facing the CBI. She seems to be a very interesting personality.

I will try to incorporate these elements in my interpretation of the role," Poonam said, adding that she was aware that acting in the film might bring lot of problems for her.

"But I am ready for it," she said. Poonam is currently going through research material on Radia since it's not possible to meet her. Poonam also claims to have landed a few snaps of Radia " in her younger days". " I'd love to meet Nira Radia personally before the shooting starts in April next year," she said.

"The basic idea came from directors Dixit and Desai. We were inspired by Radia's life but neither she nor the government would be shown in a bad light in the movie. Our film's script is simply based on what newspapers and TV channels are reporting about the 2G scam," Manoj Nandwana, the Indian line producer of the film, said.
