Aamir Khan's movie reviews of 'Dhobi Ghat'
Meyer, the Toronto Film Festival and critics there all hailed “Mumbai Diaries,” with good reason. It is a fascinating portrait of four people, all contemporary and very different, in the massive Indian city, set against the background of a place emerging into modern times.
Director-actor Aamir Khan (“Lagaan”) produced and stars in “Mumbai Diaries,” and his wife, Kiran Rao, wrote and directed the film. Khan plays Arun, a gifted, difficult painter who has a one-night stand with a thoroughly Americanized banker, Shai, played by singer Monica Dogra. (Do you remember only recently when Indian films still forbade an innocent kiss? Times are changing.)
Prateik Babbar makes a deep impression as Munna, a young and handsome laundry boy (dhobi) who has a hopeless crush on Shai, who extends a class-defying and confusing friendship to him.

Aamir Khan again pokes fun at Salman Khan
Aamir Khan has taken a dig at Salman Khan yet again. After having made indirect references to Salman in Imran Khan ‘Jaane Tu…’ song ‘Pappu can’t dance’, the talented actor has made a yet another sleazy reference to his flamboyant current in his forthcoming film ‘Dhobi Ghat’. Moreover, he also shows a personality who is obsessed with body-building. This is not the first time where a character in Aamir’s film. Nevertheless, Aamir is very fond of Salman and has great regards for him. While talking to a tabloid, a source exposed, “Aamir Khan loves Salman as a friend and his films are a evidence of that. Many of Aamir’s films have some element of Salman Khan in them. And now, Pratik’s character in ‘Dhobi Ghat’ is shown to be a Salman Khan fan.Discussing Pratik’s role with the tabloid, the source added, “He (Pratik) loves working out to build a body like Salman’s and he wants to become an actor like him. Aamir insisted that the character be Salman’s fan most likely to make up for having mocked him in Jaane Tu… in the Pappu can’t dance saala song.”And Aamir’s wife Kiran Rao, who makes her directorial debut with the film said, “Yes, Aamir suggested Salman.
Pratik’s role hails from a various city and is a part-time dhobi and a wannabe actor. He is into body-building and thinks Salman is a cool dude.”

Aamir Khan full of admire for Prateik
Aamir Khan and Prateik Babbar have a link thanks to their work. After Prateik made his debut as Genelia’s brother in the Aamir Khan produced Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na, the youngster plays the key part of Munna in Dhobi Ghat. The generally reticent Aamir has nothing but praise for the newcomer. “Kiran and I are both truly pleased to be working with Prateik because he is a dream actor for a producer. Not only is Prateik very talented, he is also very dedicated and works very hard on his dialogues.
To get into the skin of his character in Dhobi Ghat, he went to the dhobi ghat for a long period of time. He is an ideal newcomer for the industry.”

SRK goes Aamir Khan way
Shahrukh Khan must have lamented the truth that he skipped out on ‘3 Idiots’, the block buster movie that was influenced from Chetan Bhagat’s novel ‘Five Point Somebody’. SRK was first contacted for the character but after he turned it down the role fell into Aamir Khan’s lap and the rest, as they say, is history. Aamir Khan did wonders to ‘3 Idiots’ which was seriously borrowed from Chetan Bhagat’s book but strayed on events and in its main theme.
After having missed out on ‘3 Idiots’, Shahrukh is not in the mood to let go of the chance gain. Apparently, SRK has signed ‘Two States’, a movie based on Chetan Bhagat’s another book by the same name. The film shall be directed by the acclaimed Vishal Bhardwaj and Sajid Nadiadwala is producing the project.Initially, Sajid was contemplating Priyanka Chopra and Saif Ali Khan as the lead celebrities with Siddharth Anand to direct the venture. But may be, the disastrous fate of ‘Anjaana Anjaani’ has prompted Sajid to change his mind.
Getting SRK and Vishal onboard is the best thing a producer can ask for! The film is inspired from the real life story of Chetan Bhagat and is a love story about a Punjabi man and a South Indian girl. Shahrukh has apparently loved the plot and has given his nod to the movie. As for the actress, it is speculated that a beginner may be cast opposite the Shahrukh Khan.
